Abstract
While our association and its journal both ended off 2019 on a high note, the same can unfortunately not be said for the start of 2020!
We started with the very disappointing news that, despite our journal ticking all the boxes required for accreditation, the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) did not accredit it. To say this was frustrating is an understatement, especially given that the reasons cited for not accrediting the journal were not part of the criteria for registration.
By submitting manuscripts to WHSA, authors of original articles are assigning copyright to Medpharm Publications (Pty) Ltd. Authors may use their own work after publication without written permission, provided they acknowledge the original source. Individuals and academic institutions may freely copy and distribute articles published in WHSA for educational and research purposes without obtaining permission.
